Since retiring from full time employment, Campbell has had a busy portfolio of business and charitable activities.

These included serving as President of the European Mobility Group representing and promoting the interests of companies across Europe converting and adapting cars to meet the needs of disabled and older drivers and passengers.

Other roles were as a non-executive Director of Motivation Direct Ltd, the social enterprise wing of Motivation Charitable Trust a leading provider of appropriate wheelchairs and related products and services to developing countries in partnership with major international aid agencies; and in parallel, as a Regional Project Manager for The Cranfield Trust, a UK charity providing pro bono management consultancy to charitable organisations needing advice in areas such as strategic and business planning.

Campbell became DriveAbility Scotland’s first Chair when the charity was established in 2023. He commented:

“I am delighted to have a role that brings me back to my Scottish roots and focusses on an area in which I have worked both commercially and in the voluntary sector for many years.

For me, the independent mobility of disabled and older people is hugely important, and DriveAbility Scotland has a clear remit to deliver assessment and advice on mobility to people throughout Scotland including those living in isolated rural communities and in the islands.”
