The thing is, it’s only when you’ve lost your independence that you truly value it. You don’t tend to appreciate it when you’re able-bodied, but as soon as it’s gone, you really miss it. Don’t get me wrong my family and friends are amazing, but I want to do it myself.

I spoke with people in Edinburgh, and they were saying there isn’t enough funding for more centres, so having this one is huge. It will help so many people regain their independence. I’ve already told all my doctors and occupational therapists, and everyone is excited about this opportunity. This will change lives for people in the Highlands.
